My Patronus

Sorry I haven’t been updating lately.  School’s been killer.  Will try to work on it.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know…  I took Pottermore’s Patronus quiz, guys!  My Patronus is a cute little grey squirrel.

My house is Ravenclaw, my wand is made of rowan and dragon heartstring, and my Patronus is a grey squirrel.

Adorable!  Hearts everywhere!

I turned in a big story assignment to be workshopped for fiction writing class.  That was my only class for the day, so after that I curled up in a corner of campus and did lots of glorious story writing.

My sister was out with a friend, so I got the apartment to myself that evening.  I watched old episodes of The Tudors on Netflix, and freaked out and did silly things to music.

The fanfic-related craziness of the last few days is finally starting to calm down, and now I’m just getting a steady number of likes and reviews full of good, thought-provoking comments on my writing, so I’m very happy.

College and writing are both going well and I am content.

September 15, 2016

I wrote like three chapters of my fanfic yesterday, and responded to a whole bunch of reviews with varying reactions.

I also went to three classes, getting up at 6 AM to do so, and turning in a really important assignment in one of my classes.

I’m so busy I don’t really even have time to think, which is why these entries are getting shorter.  Christmas and Summer this blog will probably get busy and the posts will be nice and long again.

The nice thing about Thursday and Friday?  No homework!

I tried watching Macbeth with Michael Fassbender last night through Netflix.  I didn’t really like it.  Why are all Shakespeare interpretations either boring or bizarre?

September 14, 2016

Yesterday I had lunch with a friend and counseled her through some problems at work.

I also did tons of homework and finished several major projects, after class on campus.

Posting a fanfic that’s getting so much feedback is stressful, but also good for my growing writing abilities and my story’s strength.

I plan on writing lots more today.  Very exciting!

September 13, 2016

Yesterday was hectic.  Waking up at 6 AM, three classes and two classes’ worth of homework.  Then this all happened in an hour’s span:

  • A teacher came up and asked me what I planned to do with the rest of my life five minutes before class started.
  • I felt sick to my stomach.
  • Several people texted me at once, including my music teacher to ask about a reschedule, a friend who’s not been feeling well and needs my attention and counseling on the same day I have to finish a really important school project, and my mother with a bunch of menial chore shit I have to take note of.

I went home and my sister was in a terrible mood, so I played the counselor again.

Now this morning, before I’ve even fully woken up, my parents are calling me and sending me emails asking for help with different things related to my schooling.

I just can’t win right now.

I took a break because of exhaustion and anxiety today.  My fiction writing teacher let me, as discussed in last post, allowing me to send the assignment to her via email, which was really nice of her.

Pottered around the home, doing creative writing, homework, and music practice.  Had tea, coffee, snacks.

The Naruto fic I posted on my old, popular fanfiction account has been pretty amazingly received.  I’m getting both lots of good attention and lots of good, constructive advice, an extremely rare combination.

I finished the movie The Big Short on Netflix.  Holy shit.  Watch it!  Extremely important!  More people need to know this information!

September 11, 2016

Yesterday I did laundry and homework.

In between, I started a fem Naruto story.  I’m going to take a risk and post it on old fanfiction account of mine that’s super famous.  I’m nervous but excited.

I was feeling a lot of anxiety, so I emailed my Monday teacher and she was so incredibly kind and understanding.  It was wonderful.  I’ve had so many positive experiences revealing I’m bipolar in college.

I really think the cultural narrative surrounding mental illness has started to change.
